What we believe

Faith, then family, then business. In that order.

Most founders would agree with the order. The table exists because agreeing with it and living it are different things, and a man needs other men to close the gap.

The Founders Table orders its priorities faith, family, then business, and builds on four pillars: Stewardship (resources), Presence (time), The Table (people), and Sharpening (self). Faith is the foundation underneath all four rather than a pillar of its own.

Why the order matters

A business will take everything a man gives it. It has no natural limit and no sense of proportion. Left alone, it moves to the front of the calendar and the front of the mind, and faith and family get what is left over.

The order faith, family, business is not a ranking of what a man loves. It is a rule for what gets protected first when there is not enough of him to go around. A man who keeps the order builds a company that can lose him for a week and a family that does not have to.

Stewardship: our resources

Our money, businesses, and assets are entrusted to us, not owned by us. That changes the questions. Not just how do I grow this, but what is it for, who does it serve, and what does generosity look like at this size. Stewardship is also why the hot seat is allowed to ask about margins. A business that is not healthy cannot be given away.

Presence: our time

Family comes first in the calendar, not in the leftovers. Presence is the discipline of choosing where attention goes and protecting the time with the people who matter most. In practice it means the calendar is a moral document, and the men at the table are allowed to read it.

The Table: our people

Hospitality as a way of life. We make people feel seen and heard, at our own tables first, then with everyone we invite in. The name of the brotherhood comes from this pillar. A table is where you are known, fed, and told the truth, and every man here is expected to set one.

Sharpening: ourselves

Honest counsel and accountability. We invite hard questions and give them back, so no one builds alone or blind. Proverbs 27:17 is the verse over the door, and the personal hot seat is where it gets practiced. Sharpening is uncomfortable by definition. That is why it needs a brotherhood rather than a feed.

Faith underneath all four

Faith is not a fifth pillar. It is the floor. Christ at the center of business, marriage, and fatherhood is the assumption every conversation starts from, which is why the table is for men who profess Him and not for men who are merely curious. We are not a church program, and we are not a networking group with a verse on the wall.

Questions

Does The Founders Table belong to a denomination?
No. Members come from a range of churches. We ask that a man profess Christ and that his faith be real and lived, and we leave the rest to his pastor.
Do you talk about faith on every call?
We open in prayer and we open the Word, and then the business of the call begins. Faith is the frame for the conversation, not a separate agenda item.
