The retreat

Three nights that change the year.

Our retreat is not a conference and not a vacation. It is the one time a year the whole table sits in the same room, and a seat includes a year of the community.

Members sitting in a circle on the beach

The Founders Table holds one three-night retreat a year, by invitation, with lodging, every breakfast and dinner, and activities covered by the seat. Recent retreats were in Alys Beach, Florida in 2025 and a private house on 30A in Seaside, Florida in 2026.

What the retreat is for

A retreat does two things a monthly call cannot. It takes a man out of his routine long enough to see his business and his home from a distance. And it puts him in a room with the other men for three days straight, which is how acquaintances become a brotherhood.

We build the days to go deep. We step into one another's businesses and lives to uncover what is working, what needs to change, and where new strategy is required. Each man leaves with clear, practical next steps for his company and his family.

What a day looks like

The 2026 retreat in Seaside, Florida is a fair picture of the rhythm.

  • —Saturday: arrive at the house in the late afternoon, welcome dinner together
  • —Sunday: two working sessions in the morning, lunch at the house, a business workshop and hot seat in the afternoon, chef dinner, then personal hot seats
  • —Monday: devotional on the beach, a fourth working session, lunch out and golf or pickleball, chef dinner, then personal hot seats
  • —Tuesday: send-off and check-out by mid-morning

Where we have gathered

Our 2025 retreat was in Alys Beach, Florida, on the Gulf of Mexico: three days of workshops, fireside conversations, and time on the water. Our 2026 retreat was a private house on 30A in Seaside, Florida, steps from the Gulf, with private chef dinners. A spring mountain gathering is being planned for 2027.

Each venue is chosen to unplug the group from the noise. Members fly into the nearest airport and we share the house address with confirmed attendees.

What is covered, and what is yours to arrange

A seat covers the retreat itself and a year of the community. Specifically:

  • —Covered: lodging for three nights
  • —Covered: every breakfast and dinner, with dinners by a private chef
  • —Covered: workshops and planning materials
  • —Covered: the activity afternoon, golf or pickleball
  • —Covered: twelve months of the community
  • —Yours: travel to the airport and the ground transfer
  • —Yours: lunch on free afternoons
  • —Yours: a Bible, a journal, and one honest question

Who comes

Retreats are for members only. There is no guest ticket and no day pass. The retreat is where the brotherhood gets built, and it only works with men who have committed to the year. A man who wants to come to a retreat starts by requesting an invitation to the table.

Questions

How much does the retreat cost?
A seat starts at $3,000, depending on the venue, and the exact fee is listed on each retreat page. It is a one-time payment, made once a founder confirms your seat, and it covers lodging, every breakfast and dinner, the activities, and twelve months of the community.
Can my wife come?
Not to the retreat. It is three days of men-only sessions and hot seats. The point is that a man goes home more present, and the plan he leaves with includes his marriage. Wives are welcome to write to us with questions beforehand.
How long is the retreat?
Three nights, Saturday afternoon to Tuesday morning. Members arrange their own travel to the nearest airport.
Is there free time?
Yes. One afternoon is set aside for golf or pickleball and a lunch out, and the evenings after the hot seats are unscheduled.
